One of my new year resolutions for this year was to get back to doing the things that bring me peace. For far too long I believed happiness automatically came with a great sense of peace, and so at the beginning of 2016 I embarked on a journey in pursuit of happiness. Yet in the middle of 2017 I noticed that even though I was happy (most times), I was also very anxious. Anxious about EVERYTHING!
I was either anxious because of school, business or social commitments 😩 I had no chill, no calm-zone. I actually don’t remember ever being able to sit down and enjoy a meal without worrying about what I had to do next or if what I wanted to do was the right thing for me to be doing 🙆🏾♀️
It has to come to an end right? I highly doubt that I am the only one struggling with this, so I am writing this post with the intention of starting this conversation: “What helps you relax?”
I rate it’s important for us to know what helps us relax because once we find ourselves in highly stressful situations, we’ll be able to “take a chill pill” and continue with life from a point of relaxation.
I have just three really simple things that I like to that really help with taking a break from all of life’s hectic-ness: YOGA, TEA, NAP! Lol not all at once, of course! Though I have made a conscience effort to fit all three of things into my daily routine and I have found that doing this places me in an advantage and makes me able to have constructive days.
To infinity, and beyoooood 🚀
